Age-appropriate and engaging fun weekly theme related activities include water play, arts and crafts, imaginative games, athletics, nature based activities, special themed events, plus so much more. The emphasis is on having fun while developing self-confidence and building friendships and lasting memories. Recreational, child-directed activities and small group projects take place in a well-supervised and positive environment where safety and respectful conversation is a primary concern. Frequent field trips are scheduled to places kids love best, including twice-weekly trips to the Dix Hills pool. We are continually committed in helping children grow by allowing them to experience a broad range of activities that they themselves take part in planning and carrying out. In addition, we host several celebration days, such as the Ice Cream Feast, Multicultural Festival, Young Chefs & Bakers Week, and the end-of-summer Carnival with Petting Zoo, Bounce House, and pony rides.
A professional, credentialed staff comprised of experienced educators, including a qualified on-site supervisor, is competitively selected and carefully directed. Through a wide variety of recreational activities, our staff implements the core concepts of the High Scope Curriculum, which includes active learning through hands-on projects and teacher guidance to enhance problem-solving skills.
As with all of our staff, our teacher-counselors and assistants have undergone rigorous background checks and have all been trained in CPR and emergency First Aid. Our Summer Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, as well as our certified lifeguard, have additional credentials in advanced CPR/AED training for the professional rescuer and advanced emergency first aid. All of our bus drivers are NYS CDL licensed.
Our nonprofit camp program is the most affordable option in town. Sessions begin the first week after most local public schools end and continue until the last full week before school officially begins again in September. In addition, we offer a convenient full day program that runs from 7am until 6pm in the evening, perfect for all of our working families. Parents are free to choose the sessions they need so no one is obligated to enroll for the entire season, although there is a $200 per month discount when selecting a full month’s program. We also offer part time slots when these may be available.

“By far you get a lot more bang for your buck when you go to Rainbow Chimes. The value is there. You’re getting teachers that are certified. You have snacks and meals included, and they really tailor it to your child’s needs, which I really liked. You’re getting top-notch security with a fingerprint code. I’ve actually gotten to try Chef Jay’s food and it’s amazing” – Elena Fusaro
